Email Tips by J-Link

In your on-line business, an integral part of communication is the frequent use of email messages. It doesn't sound too difficult, but we have assimilated a number of important tips few people know about. Good luck.

ATTENTION GETTER LINES FOR EMAILS

Your message won't do you any good unless somebody reads it. Most email messages get deleted without review if: the reader doesn't know the sender or the subject is not interesting enough. If the reader starts to read the message, that's good. However, certain phrases will keep the person reading. These phrases can be used in your Subject or sprinkled within the body.

"You don't realize it, but in the next few minutes you're going to learn..."

 "Stop!"

 "Here's a fact for you..."

 "Hey!"

"Think about making use of..."

"Stop! Note by the time you finish reading..."

"As you study every word of this book you will become..."

 "Let me confess..."

 "I was angry..."

"The further you read into this..."

"Remember when you were in high school..."

 "Have you noticed yet that..."

 "FACT"

"Attention"

Words NOT to USE in your email message

Ever hear the words SPAM and JUNK? Many email programs have the facility to analyze an email message and throw it into a JUNK folder so the person doesn't even get to read the message. Since Microsoft Outlook is one of the most commonly used programs, here are a few words not to use if you don't want to be Junked!

FREE – when in all caps, anywhere in your email message.

sales@anydomain - if this is your “from” email address it gets junked.

Extra income – if used anywhere in your message. Believe it or not!

CLEAN YOUR EMAIL LIST BEFORE SENDING:

Another great FREE service is www.deaa.org.  They always have good info on their site.  Updates on bulk mailing tips, current laws, etc. for the Internet marketer. They also offer a free list cleaning service.  Send your text file list up to 40,000 addresses, one address per line to clean@deaa.org Your list will come back with many of the “complainers” removed. These are folks who have requested removal from Internet marketing related offers in the past.  deaa.org has a national list of approximately 20 million addresses, which they compare our list against. You can send up to 40,000 email addresses. Send in format of one per line, .txt file

CHECK YOUR EMAIL MESSAGES FOR SPAM FILTER ELIMINATION:

Much like tuna nets catch dolphins by mistake, their spam filters catch us. So the SiteSell SpamCheck Tool is a quick way for honest marketers to make sure that their e-mails are less likely to be considered spam by ISPs, by Yahoo! Mail and Hotmail (which tosses you into their Junk folders) and even by individual filters set up by an ever-growing number of recipients around the world. -

Here's how it works...

STEP 1: Copy-and-paste your subject, but start your subject with the word "TEST" (without the quotes, in UPPER CASE) so that we know this is a test e-mail. (If the subject does NOT start with TEST, we'll assume it's REAL spam and delete it). Here's a sample subject...

TESTFlower-Lovers Ezine: Peonies for the Yukon

STEP 2: Copy-and-paste the rest of your message and simply send it, exactly the way you would send it to your recipient, to...

spamcheck-moedawg@sitesell.net

You'll get a report back (in seconds, perhaps a few minutes if volume is heavy) telling you how good or bad your e-mail is, from a spam-detector's point of view. You will receive a full, free report of all corrections that you should make to your zine, in order to stay out of the junk folders. It does NOT, of course, actually comment on WHAT you write -- first, it's not that smart. And second, the actual content is YOUR business! ;-)
